Muster Dogs is a character-driven series showcasing five passionate graziers from across Australia, each of whom has been given a puppy from the same litter to train up to be a muster dog.
It is an action-packed yet intimate character journey through the lives of the graziers as they participate in a unique experiment; to transform a greenhorn pup into an efficient working member of a mustering team, all in 12 months!
Checking in with the puppies at key milestones, our training gurus and dog experts set challenges and under their experienced eyes they assess each pup’s progress. Our journey to train these uniquely Australian working dogs turns into an emotional ride into the graziers’ lives and a deeper understanding of the unique bond between human and dog.
The series also explores different approaches to mustering; revealing the facts, science, and technology involved in ensuring top results, animal welfare and limited environmental impact as farmers increasingly move away from mechanisation and back to relying on skilled working dogs.
